1. Dynamic Instructional Design

Step 1: Students are from all different backgrounds so they all will learn differently but this activity will be one way to learn how to count backwards. They will be counting down from 20 so their background on this topic is slim.

Step 2: Students will be able to orally count backwards from 20-0. Students will also be able to write the numbers backwards starting with 20 and ending with 0.

Step 3: We will be doing this activity as a class and using the whiteboard for the activity. We will begin by reinforcing how to count from 10-0 then begin the activity.

Step 4: We are going to use a similar strategy that we used to learn how to count down from 10 but making it more interactive. Since they already have an idea on how you start with the bigger numbers and work down, they will be able to identify the numbers quicker.

Step 5: We will be using the smart board to show the timeline of the numbers. We don't need any other technology for this activity.

Step 6: The class successfully learned how to count down from 20 and met the objectives. The strategies implemented worked for the class.

2. Bloom's Taxonomy is a pyramid chart that represents different levels of learning. Starting at the bottom is remember. This level would be useful to incorporate on a powerpoint because it is an easy way to recall facts and information especially if you attach a picture to go along with it. The next level up is understand. In the powerpoint, you could defend or argue for the decision you are including. The next level is apply. This could be used by demonstrating your information in a different way by including videos. After that is analyze. You could include a compare and contrast chart in your powerpoint to analyze the information further. The next level is evaluation where you can justify your stand by judging your criteria and results. The top level is create. This is where you could assemble a new way to express the information by designing something new.

3. The Webquest was really fun to create. I learned a lot on how to make a website and use the different functions to make it more creative. I also enjoyed learning the concept of a webquest. I think it is a good way for students to use technology and learn at the same time. It makes it easy for them and fun at the same time. I would definitely use this in the classroom for kids at an older age.

  1. Great blog! I loved the section on PowerPoint. You definitely had a lot of creative ideas on how to include Bloom's Taxonomy which I didn't think of. Your WebQuest also looks amazing! I completely agree that it would be a useful tool for older aged kids.
