I have taken many online courses before and it has been a good experience. My learning experience management has been pretty synchronous online because most teachers can set up office hours online or use media sites such as google hangout where you can talk in person at a scheduled time. Online learning is much different than in the classroom because it does require you to teach yourself the information you need to know. But, it is also a good style for some students if they like to work at their own pace and not need to hear it in person.
Open education resources are surrounded by us every day, especially in college. For example, I have to write a research paper for one of my classes and it has to have an annotated bibliography. Most likely, I am going to use peer-reviewed sources in my essay which is an example of an OER. Last week, I learned a lot of new tools by creating a newsletter design. Something I really liked that was new to me was the border around the page. I never decorate my assignments on Word but for a teacher, that is really nice to have. Something I didn't like was how hard it was to create and break two columns on Word. I could have improved my creativity but adding more fun details and structuring it better. But, knowing how to use these tools, I will be able to use them for my future career when making newsletters for parents.

Hi Olivia! I really enjoyed reading your blog post and hearing your thoughts on the questions asked this week. I agree that online classes allow you to work at your own pace and can fit into your schedule easier. Do you prefer in person classes or online? I similarly discussed how when writing research papers I use academic research articles which is an example of an OER. Your newsletter looks fantastic! Good job!
