Technology controls our everyday lives. I use it for just about everything I do. I know that technology is one of the biggest advancements especially for our generation. We rely on it so heavily for things such as mapping where we are going or what the latest sports game score was. Technology can be using the microwave or washing your clothes. You don't think about how much you use technology until you actually realize how much is around you. I wouldn't be able to take this class without technology. I have been able to connect with so many people through it too. I have family who doesn't live near me that I don't get to see at all during the year that I can talk to because of technology.
This class will be able to show me how much technology can be used in the classroom. I recently had to volunteer at a school in Tallahassee for one of my previous education classes and technology helps them complete their everyday tasks. They had a smart board to use for their lessons that was interactive for the teachers and kids to use. I have already seen what technology can do from the limited time I spent in the classroom but I am hoping that this class will teach me how to use the technology in the classroom. I want to learn how to use excel and powerpoint better in order to be able to use it in the future.
After taking the learning style quiz, I found out that I am a very active learner. I need to hear what people are saying and prefer to see what they are teaching. It is easier for me learn when I have it in front of me especially when it comes to instructions. It also told me that I am a sequential learner which means that I like to have things in order. When it comes to learning, I prefer to be told step by step what is going on rather than knowing the overall idea and then breaking it down. After learning about my learning style, I can come to a conclusion on how accurate these results were. I agree that I am more heavily an active and visual learner.

I think the results from this learning style quiz are so cool. It's interesting to see how everyone in the class has such different learning styles. Yours is actually totally opposite from mine!
ReplyDeleteI love the comment you made about how you don't realize how much you use technology and are surrounded by it until you actually take a moment to think about it. Like you said, technology includes washing machines and microwaves, but that's become such a normal part of lives that we don't even think about it when we think of technology.
ReplyDeleteLike Malyce, you made a good point that we do not often think about those "old technology" like washing machines we use every day. I guess one reason is that technology advances rapidly.
